Meet the McKenzie Events Team
Rob McKenzie
While working towards his Masters in 2016, Rob founded McKenzie Events as a side hustle after helping his mother with string lighting for her event space. As a wedding planner, she was frustrated with the lack of reliable help in the area. An entrepreneur at heart, Rob turned the small weekend gigs into a growing business in Charleston—the top wedding destination in the country.

Arden McKenzie
In 2023, Rob's wife, Arden, came aboard to help take the business to the next level. Arden specializes in the day-to-day tasks and operations of the business, from event logistics to marketing and client relations. Her proficiency in overseeing the logistical aspects of the team complements Rob's imaginative prowess, resulting in a harmonious and productive collaboration.

Evie Van Buren
Eve has been part of the McKenzie Events team since 2023, joining at the exciting time when draping services were added to the company’s lighting and event rentals catalog. With a keen attention to detail and a creative eye, Eve specializes in draping design and installation, as well as the installation of live greenery, helping bring each client’s vision to life in a way that feels intentional, elevated, and beautifully executed.

Weddings are tough. Even if one vendor is as easy as Rob it’s a huge win. We communicated the least with Rob out of all vendors and yet it was the smoothest and easiest vendor. Best bang for our buck too. Even with a last minute pivot. Inside or outside Rob’s lighting will be the best you can have. Trust in him to make it wonderful and it’ll be great.
